Youth Empowerment
At HIANA, we believe that young people are the future. That’s why we invest in their education and development. We work with local schools and colleges to provide mentorship and job training programmes. Our goal is to help young people become successful leaders in their communities.
What We Do

At HIANA, we’re dedicated to equipping young people with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to thrive. Our Youth Empowerment programmes focus on education, personal development, and career training, providing a solid foundation for young people to excel in their chosen paths. Through mentorship, job training, and skill-building workshops, we help bridge the gap between education and real-world opportunities.

This year, for example, we welcomed placement students from Sandwell College, who joined us to gain practical experience. Working alongside our team, they took on real responsibilities in project management, event planning, and communications. Their energy and fresh perspectives helped shape our recent community events, and the students gained invaluable skills to boost their career readiness. These placements are just one example of our commitment to developing young talent in a real-world setting.
Who We Support
Our programmes are open to young people aged 16–25, primarily from local communities in Oldbury and Birmingham. We work with students from all backgrounds, especially those facing economic, social, or academic challenges. By partnering with institutions like Sandwell College, we create pathways for students who can benefit most from real-world experience, mentorship, and skill-building.

The diverse experience of our team provides students with a broad range of insights and guidance, ensuring each participant feels supported and empowered to succeed. At HIANA, we are committed to fostering an inclusive community, where young people can confidently work towards their ambitions.
When To Get Involved
Our Youth Empowerment programmes run year-round, aligning with the academic calendar and term breaks. Regular workshops, monthly seminars, and quarterly events—such as career fairs and leadership retreats—ensure consistent support and engagement.
Students and mentors can join our programmes at any stage, whether they’re seeking career guidance, personal development, or hands-on experience like our Sandwell College placements.

For professionals and local businesses, we invite you to participate by offering mentorship or sponsorship, creating a robust support network for our youth.
Why Youth Empowerment Matters
We believe that empowering young people is essential to building resilient communities. By investing in youth today, we’re not only supporting individual success but also nurturing future leaders. At HIANA, we’re committed to closing opportunity gaps, offering equal access to education, career pathways, and personal development resources to help every young person achieve their potential.

Our experience with Sandwell College students this year underscored the positive impact of hands-on learning, as students gained practical skills and grew in confidence. Empowered youth become empowered adults who will, in turn, uplift others and drive positive change in their communities. By supporting our Youth Empowerment programmes, you’re helping us shape a brighter future for all.
Where It Happens
Our programmes take place at HIANA House in Oldbury, Birmingham, a central location easily accessible to students and participants from nearby schools and colleges. HIANA House offers a welcoming environment with fully equipped meeting rooms and interactive spaces where young people can engage, learn, and connect.

In addition to in-person sessions, we provide virtual workshops for those unable to attend on-site, ensuring access to everyone who wants to participate. HIANA House has become a hub for youth empowerment, connecting students, mentors, and resources under one roof.
